Drum & Lace :: Terra EP (Mesh) — [concise]

On Terra, Drum & Lace craft a quietly immersive five-track suite where ambient textures, soft rhythms, and distant vocals ebb and flow with a grounded, elemental grace.

There’s a solemn, uplifting, drifting quality surrounding Terra, Drum & Lace‘s latest for Mesh Recordings—a five-piece suite that moves between ambient-electronic flutter and downtempo serenity, tinged with Dead Can Dance and port-royal echoes. Undulating world-inspired soundscapes evolve and break down, each piece seeming to rise from deep within terra firma, cascading and meandering, offering tranquil, vocal-infused electronics and distant synth tones. Calming and immersive, subtle bleeps draw the listener in, while vocal echoes, distant yet immediate, emerge through a thin veil of fog. Each track marks a distinct moment: “Lichen,” a heartbeat; “Rings,” a drifting sonic voyage; “La Riva,” an emotive time capsule; “Terra (Right Here Do This),” a heartfelt and explosive milestone; and “Fiamma,” a closing chapter of sleek vocal layering.
