Two artists treading the lines between darker industrial tropes and emotive electronic passages, Dissolved & Nonima have had significant coverage in our pages (Dissolved / Nonima) and on this four-piece suite, Teichopsia opens with cascading sonic discoveries and dreamlike momentum on “Intersidereal” as “HiddenIV” punctuates a hypnotic stream of data crunching echoes and melodic fibers dangling in the wind. The two sound sculptors continue to submerge themselves in swells of syncopated beatwork and clanging electronics while “Test Light” dips into funkier electro realms. Closing with an epic 10-minute voyage, “The Dark Is Just The Dark” exhausts a myriad of found sounds, scattered debris, and electrical signals—the abundance of sizzling noises and fields of fractured and disheveled soundscapes (think Richard Devine vs Fenessz) wrap the senses with extended sequences that could loop infinitely. Another welcomed collaborative release on the ever-consistent Section 27 imprint.
