There are snapshots of fading times gone by, contemplative and calming—all in the same breath. No Moon In Its Sky is an aptly-titled 3-track EP that causes a subtle rush of air to pass by unknowingly.
Three pieces of cinematic downtempo beauty
Three pieces of cinematic downtempo beauty from Brad Lovett (aka Dim Past)—8 minutes in total, each track could go on forever and yet they barely hit the 3-minute mark. “Full Moon Spirit” drifts by with an emotional heartstring tug—its post-industrial darker edges poke through serene drums as flowing voices and samples cascade in the background. “Neon Chrysanthemum” pushes towards atmospheric propulsion, slowly hovering around organic instrumental layers as “Gargoyle In The Mist” closes with a light mist that conjures memories of early Tobias Lilja, port-royal and Kattoo.
