Asunder is a mind-bending and punishing collection of high-energy electronics that doesn’t let up even for a second. A busted up experimental drum’n bass industrial audio assault.

A busted up experimental drum’n bass industrial audio assault

Back with an onslaught of heavy bass, beats and wicked distortion, Diasiva—the collaboration between Monolog (Mads Lindgren) and Swarm Intelligence (Simon Hayes)—have unleashed a beast of a release, the first slab of vinyl for Irish label Acroplane and limited to 150 copies. The Diasiva duo have already amassed a hefty curriculum vitae with releases on Ohm Resistance, Arbortum, Instruments of Discipline and Subtrakt—and this only furthers Asunder‘s expectations.

The title track smudges low-end grit with broken / rapid-fire beats and a chugging dark rhythm as “Arch Nemesis” continues its jungle-styled propulsion and industrial fury. “Salem” offers a cacophony of drums and scorched bass lines that slowly break down—it eventually expands its dub underpinning only to be ripped apart with hundreds of blistering breaks. Closing with “Augmented,” Diasiva evolve into cataclysmic beats running rampant but also maintain a lively, almost organic mood as this piece feels like they’ve unraveled an angry alien growing within its core.
