Time Is Ignorance perfectly embodies the aesthetic and musical tone of the label, offering a collection of subtly organic and sentient pieces—blending processed acoustic patterns with lush textures, leaning partly towards melody while evoking a deep sense of serene melancholy.

Gareth S. Brown is a Leeds-based sound artist and micro-tonal modern composer who produces music under his own name or under various monikers such as The Unpleasants. Through his distinctive musical trajectory he has participated to numerous collaborations. Death-Static is his new project with a first effort titled Time Is Ignorance welcome by the DIY label Sound in Silence whose musical catalog is entirely tuned to expressive chamber prods ranging from expressive minimal ambient to soothing electro-acoustic reveries.

This new project perfectly embodies the aesthetic and musical tone of the label, offering a collection of subtly organic and sentient pieces—blending processed acoustic patterns with lush textures, leaning partly towards melody while evoking a deep sense of serene melancholy. This is a very autumnal album about the flowing of time, departure, loss, and solitude. It is beautifully crafted and colorfully sculpted with prevailing desolate organ lines engulfed a fragile poetical mood. The album is also punctuated by detached, reflective piano notes that add an air of elegant nostalgia. It’s a beautiful minimalist and tender ambient sojourn, filled with impressionistic moments of serene grace. An excellent addition to the label which never ceases to impress with seriously peaceful and emotional albums.

Recommended if you are into the warm, delicately moving and sorrowing neoclassical soundscapes of A Winged Victory for the Sullen, Celer, Eluvium, Jürg Frey, and Adrian Lane.
