A peaceful, singular, and cozy post-ambient journey made of lush sounds, with some chilling moments based on fragmented memories, that will ravish listeners of digitalized tape music and carefully crafted, slowly moving soundscapes.

A vast array of minimal acoustic gestures
I discovered the Brooklyn-based Build Buildings years ago with the superb release Ecotone on the recommended Laaps Records. Ben Tweel (alias Build Buildings) is a versatile and skilled sound researcher with an interest in deep ecology and in the essence of sound. His soundscapes are mostly instrumental, playing with a vast array of minimal acoustic gestures, effects, and objects, sonically morphed. I advise you to notably explore the music he released for Audiobulb.
Molly Gochman is a prolific intermedia artist with an interest in the dialogue between abstract and musique concrète elements, often noticeable in her installations. This album approaches glitch-esque looped vignettes and micro-electronic sceneries, inviting the listener to delve into sentient and harmonious soundscapes filled with tiny elements, subtle variations, and dreamy resonances.
The complete album is built on shimmering looped textures, fragmented yet allusive melodic lines obtained through manipulation of various string instruments, from harmonics to guitars. The pieces are also focused on the interaction between natural space and timbres, giving the ensemble a livelier and more organic dimension. The result flows dreamily, with meandering drone movements and micro-events that come together harmoniously in a slow-motion style.

Somewhere between Zane Trow, Chris Abraham, offthesky, and Andrew Tasselmyer. The album is delivered on beautiful vinyl accompanied by a digital version and comes highly recommended.
Continuum is available on Unending Loop. [Bandcamp]
