Some may have given up dreaming, but not me—and three years later I’m more than happy to say that the patience paid off. Henry & Gerald take their rightful place in the studio and with an apparent love of Welsh mountains unleash Twmpa upon us. It’s the perfect mix and balance of classic Yimino and fresh new ideas that one might not have expected from the pair.
The project focuses on sound textures, an exploration rather than a pure melody, at others, the feeling comes across like the low-end rumble of a beat-less Berlin nightclub seeping up through the floorboards.
Transporting us back to the early aughts where Toytronic, Art-Tek, Neo Ouija, and Pause_2 labels launched melodic experimental electronic transmissions during the height of IDM; Low Communication glides somewhere between then and now.
