Electronic music producer Luke Vibert set to release new Wagon Christ album Recepticon, first in nearly a decade on People Of Rhythm label.

Mind warping sampladelic electronic music

(Press Release) Prolific electronic music producer Luke Vibert brings back his decade dormant and hugely influential alias, Wagon Christ for a new full-length album, Recepticon. Vibert’s first Wagon Christ release in nearly a decade will be released on People of Rhythm Records on October 24, 2020 and features 14 new songs paired again with illustrator Celyn Brazier’s artwork. Released on color double vinyl, CD and digital formats.

The Cornwall, UK native has been at the forefront of electronic music for the last 25 years, earning him a cult-like following for his many recording aliases such as Wagon Christ, Amen Andrews, Kerrier District, Plug, Spac Hand Luke, Ace of Clubs, Luke Warm in addition to releasing music under his own name, Luke Vibert. Known for his steady output of highly influential and diverse releases on respected record labels such as Rephlex, Rising High, Warp, Planet Mu, Mo’ Wax, Ninja Tune, I Love Acid, Astralwerks, Nothing, and most recently for Hypercolour Records. People of Rhythm are again ever humbled and honored to collaborate with Luke on the label’s fourth release. People of Rhythm do not take the task lightly to be able to get this new Wagon Christ Recepticon out for all to hear.

Vibert’s classic Wagon Christ moniker has been key in pioneering and developing the trip-hop or downtempo genre of electronic music early on in his long, storied career. Creating, sampling and using various instrumental hip hop and funk riffs, found electronic sounds, rare breakbeats, outlandish spoken word samples, and carefully mined sound bites, along with Luke’s signature sample pack of sounds. All mixed up and bound together with those thick Wagon Christ grooves. Recepticon follows the same winning combination Vibert is widely known and celebrated for, dropping mind warping sampladelic electronic music. Packaged with brand new artwork and visuals by illustrator Celyn Brazier who has previously illustrated the previous Wagon Christ releases on Ninja Tune and Astralwerks/Virgin.
