b0t23 + inoperative system :: Reticle EP (Patterned Media)

Share this ::

This collaboration started the same time as the label in 2021 (during the global pandemic) as we struggled to reconnect with the world around us. Track ideas were started in Spain by inoperative system as simple sketches and finished in the USA by b0t23. They took on a life of their own and became something different and unique from what each producer makes on their own.

Touches of (electro) darkness

Patterned Media is bringing listeners its first non-compilation release. It is collaboration between producer inoperative system (Diego Ruiz) from Málaga, Spain and Portland, Oregon producer b0t23 (Beau Crouch)

Inoperative system has released on various labels such as Section 27, People Can Listen, Mona Records, and Metallurgic. His sound incorporates IDM and experimental electro elements in a stripped down minimal environment. You can also find his own self released works on his Bandcamp page.

b0t23 is the head of the Patterned Media label. He is a DJ and producer with a few releases out there of his own on Touchin’ Bass, Buried in Time (with EVAC), and his own label as Limit B (with Bartek Industries). Check out DJ mixes and unreleased music.

Track ideas were started in Spain by inoperative system as simple sketches and finished in the USA by b0t23. They took on a life of their own and became something different and unique from what each producer makes on their own. These tracks cross genres between IDM, electro, breakbeat, experimental, and heady melodies. The overall vibe is moody and brooding, stark, touches of darkness, and shifting rhythms.

Assistance on finishing touches and final mixdown were done by Ben Milstein, mastering was done by TOKEE. A 2nd EP is planned for later in the year and will continue to incorporate various BPMs and genres.

Reticle is available on Patterned Media. [Bandcamp]
