It is wonderful to see YUYAY back releasing. It is a label that has always sought out eclectic and open styles, refusing genre pigeonholes in its pursuit of lesser heard music. XY0815’s This Tool Has No Options is a sure expression of this mandate. An LP that took its cue from the past with tracks that will undoubtedly continue to sound fresh for years to come.

García sculpts his sounds within the frames of acid, braindance and electro with obvious influences from breaks and IDM. What can be surprising is the length of pieces, few running over the four minute mark. Despite their brevity, these are works bursting with emotion and energy.
Featherstone :: Pivot (Ernest’s Way)
The A-Side contrasts the flip, beat patterns and samples recalling British machine experimentation with breakbeat and jungle. On the B, techno is the focal point with the Australian musician plumbing hidden depths.

To the snowy peaks of Canada with Solvent, to the dusty plains of Almería with Mynationshit, our objective is giving a greater audience to what is already great. This month is no exception.
