We’ve come to see ΠΕΡΑ ΣΤΑ ΟΡΗ (translated to Pera Sta Ori) go full-circle—the avalanche of old-school electronics isn’t the only trick up his sleeve. S/T is a two track undercurrent of smoldering soundscapes that ebb, flow and dither.

An undercurrent of smoldering soundscapes

The prolific ΠΕΡΑ ΣΤΑ ΟΡΗ (aka George Kontogiannidis) returns with a chilled-out two tracker for London’s brokntoys where rusty machinery and melodic notes chug their way through electrical debris. “187′ LDL” shimmies its way through jagged braindance rhythms and foggy breaks in a brief 3-minute jaunt as a persistent wobbly melody line slithers through each note. “Nacarat Episode” opens with subtle, almost microscopic bits and bytes and sampling old folk Greek sounds from Epirus—a region in northwestern Greece—and manages to unearth organic / downtempo grit as a myriad of found sounds mysteriously loom in the background.
