Styrofoam announces first new album in over 8 years, “Fully Present” video premiere

Styrofoam (aka Antwerp, Belgium based electronica producer Arne Van Petegem) is delighted to announce the upcoming release of a new full length album. We Can Never Go Home is Styrofoam’s first full length in over eight years, as well as his first ever all-instrumental album. Igloo Magazine premiere’s “Fully Present” video!

[Press-Release] Styrofoam (aka Antwerp, Belgium based electronica producer Arne Van Petegem) is delighted to announce the upcoming release of a new full length album. We Can Never Go Home is Styrofoam’s first full length in over eight years, as well as his first ever all-instrumental album. The release features eight songs all written, recorded and produced by Arne at his Silent Face studio during the early months of 2018 as the soundtrack to an ever more confused and confusing world. Igloo Magazine premiere’s “Fully Present” video!

The album will be released as a limited edition handmade CD wallet edition on Athens based boutique label Sound In Silence, with Styrofoam’s own Silent Face label handling the digital release. It will be preceded by two singles, both with accompanying videos: “Fully Present” (Sept 21, 2018 featured) and “This Terrible and Beautiful World” ( Oct 12, 2018).

Arne also shot and edited all visual art accompanying the album and single releases. The album’s front cover features a deserted motel swimming pool in Durham, NC. Both videos were filmed while exploring the Stockholm archipelago.

Between 2000 and 2010 Styrofoam released six albums on Morr Music (Berlin) and Nettwerk (LA), and toured all over Europe, North American and Japan, including tours supporting Death Cab For Cutie, Jimmy Eat World and Notwist (in whose live line-up he also performed). During that period he also produced remixes for bands such as Blonde Redhead, Postal Service and Mùm and collaborated with Ben Gibbard, Josh Rouse, Blake Hazard (The Submarines) and numerous others. Styrofoam was put on hiatus in 2012 allowing Arne to focus on his work as in-demand producer for artists including Milow, Meiko, Tout Va Bien and Moss. He also works as an electronic music lecturer at PXL Music University College.
