Bits and bytes tethered into abstract yet wondrous data streams; Temporal Breathing is laced with memorable audible fractures as dark and light hues pepper the landscape.
A thick soup over the burner, Dissolved (aka Paul Daniels, a Glasgow-born & Vancouver-transplant) returns with his self-released 15-track album packed with further infused melodic ingredients. Early-era Skam artists Quinolone Yellow and Team Doyobi briefly surface as Dissolved consistently reveals a signature sound via textured beatwork, fragmented rhythm bursts and evolved glitch tentacles. Sounds are strewn all about, thickened by erratic bass and mulched ambient layering, there’s a nostalgic IDM-centric flare that sways and switches its tone throughout the recordings. Buried melodies lost in time and patch cables dangling from broken noise boxes—it all shapes up into a cohesive mechanical whole. Bits and bytes tethered into abstract yet wondrous data streams; Temporal Breathing is laced with memorable audible fractures as dark and light hues pepper the landscape.
