Lazily swaying ambient for swaying lazily in your hammock, a cold drink resting on your tummy, eyes shut contentedly behind sunglasses. Lights Dim is Marek Kamiński from Poland and Gallery Six is from Hiroshima. Together they seem barely to move as they blend guitar and piano with layered loops, samples, bird chirp and water fall into an easy-listening experience not of the louche, retro-lounge kind, but of utterly unironic, slow, melodious serenity. Even when some loose threads of electric static get all into a knot, the track still more than lives up to its title, “Sea of Tranquilty.” Between Spaces is lovely, companionate music, so easy to like, though likely just as easily forgotten when the next pretty thing passes by.
Between Spaces is available on Kaico.
