Atlanta IDM label Clean Error Records has recently released its 53rd piece, the glitchy 7-track EP called Bunker Symphonies by Hasbeen, a skillful artist that should be on the watch list of experimental music heads. On a first listen, one can recognize distinctive aesthetic elements of Autechre and Plaid. But the deeper you go, the more you assimilate the rich and complex array of sounds and rhythmic deconstruction that rarely follow a pattern—like practically running a music machine in full random mode. Music producers should understand how arduous it is to meticulously sequence a track thinking of each detail like that.

So between a ton of slapping glitches, metallic timbres, micro-sampling, percussive drills and dissonance, the beautiful ethereal melodic pads that emerge in most tracks contrapose in such a blissful way that makes you love the release. That said, I’d highlight “Mynsc (bonus),” “Jirga Para,” and “disruptedFragments” as great examples of Hasbeen’s dexterity.
