Si-Cut.Db is serious in his attempt to create the new digital dub. Douglas Benford is maybe known to you from his Tennis collaboration with Ben Edwards or maybe because he’s a co-owner of the club Sprawl based in London. Or perhaps you just know him from his solo music as Si-Cut.Db. Find Some Shade is a serious step into the world of dub. Dubby basses mixed with crispy sounds and crunchy production with focus on the details. The dub here is not only in the bass lines, it’s much more in the whole atmosphere, in the tiny little sounds, in the flow and in the continuous variations and shiftings of this wonderful music. Some of the tracks are more upbeat and therefore DJ’s who play dance music in clubs may use them to great effect. And there are also more laid back tracks on the album, atmospheric and mainly for listening. Find Some Shade is a great album, mastered by Twerk
