Though most of this five-tracker is veiled in minimal fractures of analog-to-digital distortions, time is fully stretched exposing the raw nature of experimentation without losing site of its universal theme.

Kemek

[Release page] Filtering through a maze of alien frequencies can’t be easy if you’re the artist envisioning such a vast landscape. With Ultimately Always, Adam Douglas (aka Kemek) manages just fine by creating an electronic cosmos of sound that branches from one spectrum to the other. And even within these seemingly vague passages of complicated high pitch screeches one can find a calm leveling out the madness. A recent review of Biomass’ Energy comes to mind while listening to Kemek’s brief voyage as it lifts off for Architects + Heroes.

There’s no shortage of warm synths buzzing about the universe here, and if there were sounds to represent exuberant fluctuations, Ultimately Always would be it. Subtle instrumental waves brush against emotional flurries as placebo’s of infinite loops manifest themselves with bright sparks along the way. Each track pushes forward as revised extensions floating somewhere between early The Orb recordings with a dosage of serene drones balancing the darker spots. Though most of this five-tracker is veiled in minimal fractures of analog-to-digital distortions, time is fully stretched exposing the raw nature of experimentation without losing site of its universal theme.

Ultimately Always is out on Architects + Heroes. [Release page]
