Dataline ‘Hear Your Beat’

[Release page] Tagged as a dubby, groovy and spheric voyage, Hear Your Beat is Dataline’s first proper release and one that takes a leap through charted and uncharted terrain. An abundance of bleep-techno sphere’s are wrapped in a polished collection of dance friendly pulses of sound. Sparks, springs and spews of lightly brushed ambience floats around the center of each piece—beats take the front stage but veer into other directions along the way. The well-rounded and clean mastering keeps this release shifting gracefully as bass lines and subdued melodies flourish about. Techno that isn’t just intended for summertime club nights, Dataline unveils a fluid use of rhythm and coherency that is both engaging and focused. But Hear Your Beat isn’t just a four to the floor full length. A more—dare we say—IDM-centric pathway is carved and filled with chilled-out percussion (ie. “Sweet Potato,” “Slow” and “Expectations”). Ambient undertones run parallel to its neighboring technoid counterparts which are more upbeat in style and approach. Overall, Dataline takes ingredients from a range of styles that ultimately compliments this debut long player. And while the artistry exhibited here is pristine on the exterior, these sonic bubbles hit with a soft blow to the feet while massaging the ears with a classic electronica-tinged dynamic.

Hear Your Beat is available on Noorden. [Release page]
