Field of Coincidence is the debut album documenting the collaboration between LA-based artists Jesse Perlstein (Sontag Shogun, AxOxH) and Michael Robert Chadwick (Fake Sword, Plum Professional), aka Trellis. Perhaps the perception of coincidence can serve as a link to folk psychology and philosophy as well as supernatural, occult, or paranormal claims, psychological reasoning, and the statistical probability of chance events.
Päiväkahvit is a tender, richly textured ambient album blending sparse instrumentation, ethereal vocals, and intimate field recordings—from birdsong to children playing—capturing the joy of shared, everyday moments. Created by Sontag Shogun and Lau Nau during a 2019 retreat in Finland, the album flows like a sonic diary of peaceful afternoons, meditative moods, and quietly magical collaborations.
Sontag Shogun shares “The Tightrope Session” — a live performance recorded in an industrial lighting design warehouse in Brooklyn.
Jesse Perlstein is a multi-disciplinary artist born and based out of New York City. He has spent the last decade creating cross-genre works that often blend the mediums of sound, visual art, prose and interactive room installations, focusing on the confluence between fantasy and reality and exploring their inseparable tangle.
This is a flowing audio scrapbook soundscape, a travelogue which fits in with the ambient genre, but what makes this unique is the way these song-writers have assembled this listening experience.
