Aging brings aching bones and nostalgia, but the lure of nightlife still draws the narrator to The Hague’s IFM Festival, where they reconnect with Robyrt Hecht and the Clear Memory crew. Hayter’s debut LP, Second Set Of Ears, showcases his evolution through moody electro and precise percussion, affirming both his maturity as an artist and the label’s enduring vitality.
XY0815 :: This Tool Has No Options (YUYAY)
It is wonderful to see YUYAY back releasing. It is a label that has always sought out eclectic and open styles, refusing genre pigeonholes in its pursuit of lesser heard music. XY0815’s This Tool Has No Options is a sure expression of this mandate. An LP that took its cue from the past with tracks that will undoubtedly continue to sound fresh for years to come.

Despite the black matter of the eight tracks, the floor is not forgotten with the Leipzig outfit delivering some angular and angry body music amongst their lancing electro and psychological experiments. A soundtrack for the world we, somehow, find ourselves in.
V/A :: Clear Memory 012 (Clear Memory)
A cornerstone of the Leipzig imprint has been drawing on local talent, gathering fellow machinists on compilations to showcase the talent of their city and their sound. Clear Memory 012 is the eighth such collection to date.
Dog Balls :: Tell It To My Dog EP (Clear Memory)
Hayter and Milium draw on a spread of styles to produce their unique sound, toying with the seriousness of genre tags while seriously surprising the listener along the way.
Robyrt Hecht :: Yskayan Knowledge (YUYAY)
The strictures of electro mean that individualism can be difficult to achieve. With Yskayan Knowledge, Hecht not only expresses himself in a unique manner, the Leipzig musician is proving that the sounds of frigid funk are wide and varied.
