Xerxes The Dark :: Soundtrack To The Blind Owl (Zāl)

Musically speaking this album navigates between merciless power electronic and death industrialism. It is wicked, distorted and psychoactive.

An engulfed, devastating, ferocious and noisy-infused bleak ambient album

This new digital release is said to be inspired by Iran based poète maudit and visionary literary figure whose dreary, pessimistic, tripped out and obsessive tales are sadly too little known from the public and demanding bibliophiles. Mohamed (aka Xerxes The Dark) decided to celebrate the legacy of this immense literary talent with an engulfed, devastating, ferocious and noisy-infused bleak ambient album. Being myself an avid reader of Sedag Hedayat’s infectious moody-esque poetical isolationism I can only welcome such effort. Xerxes The Dark has been investigating/exploring the field of ambient music (and related micro-genres) for many years with a steady motivation and a number of descent self-released albums as well as materials signed on Cryo Chamber. Musically speaking this album navigates between merciless power electronic and death industrialism. It is wicked, distorted and psychoactive, can admit comparisons with SPK, Theologian, Brighter Death Now or even Atrax Morgue at their most abrasive and atonal moments.

Soundtrack To The Blind Owl is available on Zāl. [Bandcamp]
