Weldroid returns with Apprentice of Chaos for the ever dependable Section 27. An art experiment at re-imagining the soundtrack of the Netflix show The Witcher, AOC is a roughened, post-industrial behemoth that shakes and rattles its way through the mist. Cinematic structures emanate throughout the recordings; filled with tethered glitch, abrasive mechanics, dark ambient motifs, and soundtracks to uninhabited worlds (I’ve not watched The Witcher, so cannot compare and contrast), Weldroid, as a result, transmits distress signals with an emphasis on oscillating electrical data fields weaving into and out of the fog.
