April 2022 saw the release of Leekmatic, an avalanche of electronics and unusual peripherals both abstracted and in the zone—a shared compilation with Miami’s Schematic Music Company and Denmark’s Leek. Solidifying their stamp on experimental soundscapes and shifting panoramas through the hands of unique sound sculptors, Leekmatic is a baffling assortment; its core spewing high-octane grooves, each musician exposes a multitude of tangled rhythms and tones, spliced jazz, modular acrobatics, acoustic timbres, and vaporous glitch, IDM, and cross-pollinated genres blending as a solid assemblage. Without diving into each artist and their musical trajectories (just have a look at the lineup), striking sonic shapes are carved by Schematic and Leek retooling and expanding their skilled roster—consistently eclipsing themselves as go-to sources for nonlinear and challenging music.
