For their latest, Schaffer’s label offer up a bright vision of synth pop. The teeth are white and the sounds are clean. An enjoyable excursion into the realm of 80s inspired pop music and a precursor to more to come from an excellent label.
[Releases page] Anna Logue Records is quite the work horse. The label is either digging up the aural landscape of the past or giving space to new acts. One of the latest releases by the German Imprint, under the guise of a 7”, looks to the past with modern eyes.
Twins Natalia are a contemporary wave outfit with a backwards glance and haircut. With label boss Marc Schaffer in their midst, Twins Natalia are centrally a moniker of the excellent Poeme Electronique. The 7” is a split affair, with the Twins sending “Radial Emotion” through the wiring. The track is an immediate transportation to the 80s. Synth pop is at the heart of the track. This isn’t moody or dark but lipsticked and cheery analogue music. The flip is dedicated to Marsheaux, a Greek electropop duo who have been active for near a decade. The twosome serve up “When We were Young.” The track is a take on Twins Natalia’s original version of 2008. Pop drenched and Electro cut with a clean chirpiness throughout. Catchy and manicured wave.
