(04.08.05) Sometimes you might complain about buying records that are too short, or that leave you begging for more. Terminal 11 is one of those few artist who can put together 35 minutes of music leaving you completely satisfied. With every album his music is becoming denser in terms of amount of sound data per second.
In Illegal Nervous Habits you can find any kind of bizarre samples not just mashed up, like in many breakcore acts, but clearly recognizable among layers and layers of sound, voices and drums. He even blends some soul vocals in “Off Set Packed” and funky disco grooves in “Cestwhat.” T11 uses drums in a very peculiar way, he sets a frantic pace to the music with ultra fast rhythms, rattling percussions are continuously rewound and restarted, without being noisy nor distorted nor even near to breakcore standards. It’s a hyper-kinetic flow of tiny beats and snares separated by nanoseconds, that gives rise to a crystal clear, sparkling music. Surely one of the freshest albums published in recent times, there are absolutely no reasons to miss it. Even in case you find this CD too short, Terminal 11 will release a full disc on Phthalo sometime soon.
