The dutch imprint is shouting its mantra, ushering in another twelve months with a 12” of abused and brutalized industrial terror. If this is the age of anger, surely this is its soundtrack.
There’s a nasty side running through techno. In all fairness there always has been but of late some have taken that misanthropic edge to even more deformed levels. TH ± Tar Hallow is one such chop shop. Over the label’s short existence they have served up steaming plates of ripe and ruined wreckage. New year means new opportunities to soil and spoil.
The head honcho, Thanos Hana, shares an EP with TAFKAMP. The Paling Trax artist is out for blood, making his indecent intent very clear from the outset. Coarse pound wallops, basslines groaning into the red. Hi hats attempt to relieve some of the pressure, but only add to the venom. Every element is strained, bars break and snap into splintered shards . You’re in for no respite on here. Hana maintains the horror. Drums pummel speakers, thump being suckled on a deranging mix of acid and amphetamines. The close comes with the bending and bulging belligerence of “YY,” a track for dark minds and even darker dancefloors.
This isn’t a record for the faint of heart, nothing on TH ± Tar Hallow is. The dutch imprint is shouting its mantra, ushering in another twelve months with a 12” of abused and brutalized industrial terror. If this is the age of anger, surely this is its soundtrack.
TH006 is available on Tar Hallow.
