A visceral collection of organized electronic mayhem
Two tracks smashed together—this new release features 12 pieces compiled into two cassette sides: an a-side titled “125BPM,” and a b-side titled “110BPM.” A visceral collection of organized electronic mayhem from broken breaks, heavier hitting drums, blips’n bleeps, erratic breakcore vs braindance, early synth-pop/punk, acid noodling and did we mention low-end rattling? With the a-side coming across as a live recording that bends, morphs, and twists itself into sonic pretzels, its old-school shell of robotic electronic distortion is utterly corrosive and addictive. There’s an underlying mechanical force somehow fueling these tunes while hundreds of found sounds break apart and sporadic samples are tossed in to round off the sweet noise. The b-side takes a similar approach where obliterated rave sounds are shuffled and shakened between video game soundtracks and echoes in abandoned warehouses. A cross section between fractured industrial hip-hop that Gescom and Autechre (ref. Warp Tapes 89-93) inhabit, or the blistering beauty of Hell Interface, The Final Cut, and Psychic TV (ref. Jack The Tab/Tekno Acid Beat) flashbacks, Synade creates hazy dreamlike states of audible flux while seamlessly altering roughened sound space and mind bending electronic cacophonies.
