Immersed in analog modular reverie
Immersed in analog modular reverie crafted by sonic visionary Charlène Levasseur (aka Sukkube), the boundaries of sound dissolve into the sublime via Spinning Groove—his latest for Fallen Metropolis. In this luminous auditory foray, vintage electronic machines breathe new life as they intertwine and disintegrate into shimmering fragments of tone and texture. “Chronic Delay Part 1” opens like a pulse from a distant dream, gently ascending into atmospheric and hypnotic heights, while “Chronic Delay Part 2” deconstructs itself with delicate precision, echoing the pioneering spirit of early Morton Subotnick. The evocatively titled “Spinning Groove – Musique Concrète” ventures into abstract technoid realms, chasing a meticulous, mechanical construct.
While the path meanders through subtle turbulence, there’s beauty in every shift. “Substance Insoluble – Ambient Music” glows with fragile, crystalline microsounds, offering a moment of suspended serenity. In contrast, “Terra Objectiva Parts 1” and “Part 2” delve into shadowy industrial terrain, gradually mutating and eroding into haunting landscapes.
These recordings originated in the echoing halls of Théâtre Le Phare in Toulouse, captured during a Nanajam dance gathering—an evening where audio and motion intertwined in fluid intimacy, creating fleeting realms through harmony and vibration.
