S.O.L.O. :: Quiet Techno (Dataflow)

On some levels the minimal style here is very similar to Deepchord, Basic Channel and the like, but not at all derived from the reverb drenched Berlin sound.

Minimal techno for quiet introspection and relaxation

An interesting combination of styles and techniques in this very minimalist, chillout album by Michael Wells’—aka Greater Than One—S.O.L.O. project. On some levels the minimal style here is very similar to Deepchord, Basic Channel and the like, but not at all derived from the reverb drenched Berlin sound. Sounds are clear and precise—subtle tricks add funk to these stripped down arrangements, and the moods vary a lot. Some of the tracks have a very blissful, relaxed vibe while others are more desolate, empty plains you can wander in solitude. This definitely lives up to its name, absolutely minimal techno for quiet introspection and relaxation.
