Jacking title track “The Benz” can originally be found on the excellent Balkan Vinyl Acid Relief compilation in aid of the DEC’s East Africa Crisis appeal. Charitable acid for an excellent cause and if you’re a fan of the squelchy Roland beast then something you definitely need to wrap your ears around.
Back to the EP and Ben Sims pulls out the 5am warehouse stops for his take on “The Benz”—all thunderous pounding kicks, commanding hi-hats and a positive reeking of dry ice and strobes. Radioactive Man tweaks the original 303 line over trademark deep rolling electro—guaranteed to get your head down and arms pumping in preparation for a long night on the dancefloor. Posthuman round things nicely off with “Company Man” where rave stabs aplenty bounce across stepping late night house and chopped vocal rhythms.
