EntreMundos is a fantastic celebration of modern pyrotechnics, retro ambiance, mighty grooves, dynamic motion and hallucinogenic splendor.
In April last year London-based Far Out Recordings brought us the excellent self-titled debut album by São Paulo’s ten-man electrifying sonic phenomenon, Nomade Orquestra. Since then the band continued to perform regularly in Brazil but also gained international recognition and went on a successful European tour during which it conquered venues in Portugal, Spain, the UK, Bulgaria and Germany. On top of all that the band has very recently managed to finish the recording of its second album EntreMundos (Between Worlds), which sees the light of day this month through Far Out.
EntreMundos shows Nomade Orquestra’s growth as a single entity. It reveals strengthened chemistry between the members, expands the band’s eclectic sound palette and sharpens its intricate yet accessible musical architecture. Throughout ten compositions, armed with intensified infectious energy, Nomade Orquestra continues to effortlessly and imaginatively blend Afro-Brazilian and Middle Eastern flavors with elements of jazz, funk, rock, soul, hip-hop and more, in order to create a wider, deeper and even more vibrant and colorful version of its unique kaleidoscopic sonic universe. The album is a fantastic celebration of modern pyrotechnics, retro ambiance, mighty grooves, dynamic motion and hallucinogenic splendor. The maneuvers are executed with great dexterity, and every structure holds an arresting dramatic charm and enticing otherworldly scents.
Nomade Orquestra is definitely in its most crystallized and outrageously creative form these days, and EntreMundos—even though fresh out of the oven—can already safely be called timeless. Check out this page to see the band’s 2017 European tour dates.
