TUN011 simply splits infinities
Released as a six track, ten inch record (and digital download), Nike_Vomita (aka Barcelona, Spain’s multi talented Peter Furlan) delivers another contemplative and complex selection of tracks for Iceland’s Móatún 7. Glitchy strands morphed with an acid tinge, electronica, techno, and heavy bass thuds, found sounds and blissful melodies swirl.
TUN011 simply splits infinities with opener “Xenote_dpIN7” and its groove-laden slice of life and warped vocal stretches. The rhythmic tones and cascading mood shifts from softer dribbling tracks like “Neu_0.0” to more breaks-oriented avenues like “dETT 63.23d N6” that bust through our bass bins at lightening speed. And yet it’s when the fast lane is explored that Nike_Vomita finds his comfort zone. Tracks like “Salmon_Trail” and “SndWrm Brk V2” take us back to classic rave-era electronics where broken beats and bass slip and slide. The rugged low-end acrobatics of closer “Jordan’s Training” is also an exquisite workout for the senses. Ultimately, a well-executed cross-section of the artist’s range, style, and sonic structure is exhibited on TUN011 to a tee.
