A breathtaking total display of technical mastery and emotional depth, balancing glitch-ridden experimentation with warmth on skin, indivisible empathy, and a giftedness for melodic sophistication. Ndorfik delivers a set for Clean Error that feels both meticulously engineered and profoundly and deeply heartfelt.

A sound both mechanical and deeply human
Ndorfik—aka Alexey Gaponenko, previously operating as Vesna—refines his honed instinct for rhythm and melody through the arterial circuitry of the Clean Error DNA, in Northern Cache EP, stretching his craft into broader and more graceful territory while retaining the intricacy that defines his sound. Opening track “Tirath” immediately establishes the record’s immersive tone, swirling with Reese bass, scattergun breaks, and fluid strands of dissonant top-line melody that twist through the mix with restless momentum. From there, “Turvu” launches into a display of next-level electronic gymnastics, where distortion and glitch are invited into the fold without ever overwhelming the emotional core.

What emerges is a sound both mechanical and deeply human—cold textures warmed from within by a glowing emotional undercurrent that expands outward and blooms into something unexpectedly tender. It is stunning from the opening bars, digital music with heart-shaped hands. “Joeemsu” continues this ascent, championing rhythmic alacrity and proto-funk delicacies, its fragmented post-IDM flourishes delaying and strafing through melancholic intensity with dazzling precision. There is twisted sunshine in its delicate washes, beauty refracted through broken glass.
When the rhythm drops, Ndorfik’s precision robo-beatwork is thrown into sharp relief, every percussive detail landing with exacting force. Closing track “Soskua” leans into towering cityscape aesthetics, evoking neon skylines and midnight metropolis grandeur. Its minute-long rhythmic introduction slowly ratchets tension, teasing the arrival of something profound—and when it lands, it does so magnificently, warm pads coloring the horizon like moonrise over dusk.
In summary, this is a breathtaking total display of technical mastery and emotional depth, balancing glitch-ridden experimentation with warmth on skin, indivisible empathy, and a giftedness for melodic sophistication. Ndorfik delivers a set for Clean Error that feels both meticulously engineered and profoundly and deeply heartfelt. Highly recommended for fans of early IDM progenitors Funckarma, EOG, Funkstörung et al.
