Mount Shrine :: The Mount Hibiki Tapes (Cryo Chamber)

The spiritual currents wafting into the air around these mountains is very auspicious for spiritual upliftment, imagine echoes of warm, rainy and masterfully crafted drones. The Mount Hibiki Tapes compiles all currently known underground albums, singles and EPs produced with the Mount Hibiki project.

Many ageless masters still live in these areas out of the public gaze. Not only are meditators going to the mountains, but so are the gathered Gods sitting there, it strips their minds out of the unwanted worldly stimuli to turn their attention inwards. The meditation into the higher mountains becomes very powerful and what could be achieved in decades of half hearted approach in normal routine will be achieved in a couple of years in solitude and silence. So what is it about the mountains that make them so endearing to my endless sadness?

I become aware of the present moment by deliberately adopting an erect and dignified posture, whether sitting or standing, as though I am a mountain. Slow warm low tones fill the air, “Azur“ (8:17) presents an aerial view of mountain terrain, the river may be flooding, looking through cloud cover. Water patterns and shadows walk up a mountain path, encountering different terrains and challenges, ultimately reaching the summit. Here I am drawing energy from the earth, like the mountain drawing water. Long slow clouds of colored light are slowly changing and flowing. Overall this dreamy slow perfect atmosphere is also sleep friendly, “Absent Sens Part 1“ (8:56). Slowly building “Absent Sens Part 2“ (5:04) engages my senses to imagine the sights, sounds, and textures of the mountain.

A new trilogy begins here: “Fortress Mist Part 1“ (9:13) Fades in perfectly, breathing like a mountain. “Fortress Mist part 2“ (4:48) suggests a formless fog with endless subtle details until it all slows down further. “Fortress Mist part 3“ (6:00) closes the tryptic perfectly.

Another connected form begins, “Sun Praising Through Part 1“ (15:21) suggests birds, who might relate messages from spirit personalities to those here in the physical form. “Sun Praising Through Part 2“ (8:08) encounters the things that are outside of normal experience, like ESP, ghosts, and UFOs. Remember that I am the drifting clouds. Reflect on how a mountain stands strong through changing weather conditions, using this imagery to cultivate inner strength and stability.

With an upright and dignified posture, reminiscent of a mountain’s enduring presence, behold “The View of Dallas Under The Fog“ (10:10). There are things I do not understand, coming from my time and place. “Heartland“ (16:19) leads to “A Slow Plane Part 1“ (8:00). Water or aspen leaves come rushing with the dulcet drones of the electronic rays, leading to the resting place, “A Slow Plane Part 2“ (11:49). This is even more dark and slower and somewhat orchestral. Only now am I ready for “A Slow Plane Part 3“ (5:20) with clouds of uncertain colors. Can you see the colors, bright and vivid?

You reach the top of the mountain. You feel happy. Accomplished. Now observing the ever changing light and shadows, the flow of streams, and the wildlife around you, feeling the stillness amidst the movement. Here begins the “Cold Paths Part 1“ (7:46), suggesting rainbows fading in and “Cold Paths Part 2“ (9:36) which may be even slower, back and forth, darker and lighter changing constantly, drifting  into the darkness revealing very few features, just slowly boiling clouds. “Cold Paths Part 3“ (5:04) takes you deeper into the darkness. Perhaps you see very few features, or just fog slowing down.

Now at last we come to the “Grandplains“ (6:28). This one is in absolute slow motion, slower than any of the others. As we sit, visualize the sun traveling across the sky, the light and shadows suggest colors changing moment by moment. We can imagine the seasons as they change and still we all stand unaffected.

Again, you must picture your body as a mountain, with your spine as the central core, your legs as the base rooted to the ground, and your head as the peak reaching towards the sky. Try to understand, “Healthless Servants“ (14:24), to me this track sounds like demonstrations of the continuity of life, accompanied by a Vatican glee club. Again, envision yourself as a mountain, towering in its strength, as you might lean way down to hear something low and sinister with strings.
