Ricocheting back and forth between a post-dubstep sound and infused industrial mayhem, broken slabs of noise and grit interface with toxic rhythms.
Washington-DC based Dave B has been producing harsher elements of electronic music for over a decade and continues with his Maduro outfit on the digital-only Blood Turns Black. As you might expect, but with a slight twist, Maduro flips things around by saturating low-end wobbles with definitive, squelchy synth lines. Ricocheting back and forth between a post-dubstep sound and infused industrial mayhem, broken slabs of noise and grit interface with toxic rhythms. Maduro’s take on the recently drowned-out genre is quite raw and punchy to say the least. Fleeting moments of calm are immediately interrupted by glitchy basslines and all that is left is yet another solid book in the artists’ sonic library.
Blood Turns Black is available on Octofoil.
