A veritable feast of electronic music
With a total of 23 tracks, illocanblo’s Liminal Rhythms develops a life of its own. With six of his original tracks and 17 remixes, it’s a veritable feast of electronic music. Ilya Bitekhtin dives into the weeds on Liminal Rhythms, which was released in late August 2023 on the reliable EC Underground label, recognized for their wide range of international musicians. A stand-alone and exceptional EP, the remix compilation that follows is equally perplexing. A surplus of experimental electronic movements are represented by well-known musicians including Futuregrapher, Weldroid, Keiss, Room of Wires, Lokom, Bistro Boy, Ambidextrous, Eden Grey, Cyan341, Pablo Funk, and Cyance. The remixes of NYORAI, Heft, Analept, Energy No13, Stekri, and Nariel are transformed into powerful renditions of shattered bite-sized bits. It can be difficult to consume with so many tracks available. For our benefit, ECU turned the collection into a double CD package and digital download. Another strong compilation that will take time to unfold.
