Franck Kartell :: Electric Sheep EP (LDI)

Electric Sheep is underpinned with hardened electro/break beats and has a sparse, beautifully mixed minimal sound to it that tingles the ears.

Capturing the future-retro of 80s electro

The newly formed Dutch imprint known as Lloyd’s Dark Imperium (aka LDI) claims Electric Sheep to be an electro EP from the dependable French producer Franck Kartell—technically it fits the definition and is very much in the vein of Gerald Donald’s Dopplereffekt work and sounds as much like Tangerine Dream or Vangelis as any electro can be. It is, however, underpinned with hardened electro/break beats and has a sparse, beautifully mixed minimal sound to it that tingles the ears, capturing the future-retro of 80s electro perfectly.

Distributed worldwide by Clone Distribution. The Dutch label’s main focus is on vinyl releases available in selected record shops across the globe, releases will also be available digitally.

Electric Sheep is available on LDI May 10, 2021. [Website]
