Echaskech :: Invisible City (VLSI)

Filled with upbeat and downbeat electronics mixed with saturated rhythms, each track treads down memory lane as it seeks to push ahead into the next decade.

Echaskech’s most club friendly and danceable album to date

Echaskch are set to release their fourth album on December 11, self-described as “easily the most club friendly danceable album“—and we wholeheartedly agree. Filled with upbeat and downbeat electronics mixed with saturated rhythms, each track treads down memory lane as it seeks to push ahead into the next decade.

Tracks like “Slipstich” are a prime example of Echaskech’s signature dub, rave, techno and improvised nature. “Defender” is another favorite where warehouse bass, beats and robotic moods are sliced and diced in an early 90s-era club scene. “Divine Beats” pushes forward with vocodered bliss, its sharpened electro edge and machine funk packs a punch as “Gothic Tones” adheres to Echaskech’s melodic and acrobatic groove leanings.

Invisible City quite simply elevates itself. In a time that has been and continues to be very challenging for most around this circular cosmic spot, Echaskech proves there’s a positive and radiant light at the end of this chaotic tunnel. And if “Epilogue I” and “Epilogue II” are any indication of the artists’ next-stage progression where atmospheric notes merge with next-level dubstep layers, we’ll be anxiously awaiting.

Invisible City is available on VLSI December 11, 2020. [Bandcamp]
