Busted up electro-industrial slabs crash against rugged rhythms, low-end streams and intense sound fields. /DL/MS/ are Lok44 and Dibek collaborating on Rogue Intent, an intense debut 4-track (vinyl) extended player for Vienna’s long-running TRUST imprint. “Indisciplineado” runs through blackened corridors of grit and grime—acid swells and vocal bits are tinged and twisted to no end. “Yep” is an aggressive workout for the senses, scorched corrosive-electro at its finest—hard edged beats sliced by sirens are culled from early 90s warehouse raves. “Reptilian Genetics” takes a sojourn into vocordered bliss, relaxed melodies, and is perhaps the most tranquil of the lot, even with its rippled bassline. On “Last Smoke” we see the duo in prime form—vocal slivers traverse each beat, broken percussion and slanted techno continues to build as it tapers into dust particles near its demise. In all Rogue Intent is a fresh take on distorted electro, industrial and techno morphed into a soundtrack for alien invaded environments.
