Darqhorse :: Digital Dawn (Diffuse Reality)

Featuring a wide range of breaks, electro, techno, and rhythmic swirls among a deluge of strong beats, bass, and wicked distortion, mile-long soundscapes and panoramas are punctuated by its upbeat attitude and acidic surges.

The next wave of experimental electro-nic sculptures

What a strong record this is: on Digital Dawn, Darqhorse (aka Jimmy Wormall based in Cork City, Ireland) offers twelve tracks with two remixes from Squaric and LectrO COd_e. Featuring a wide range of breaks, electro, techno, and rhythmic swirls among a deluge of strong beats, bass, and wicked distortion, mile-long soundscapes and panoramas are punctuated by its upbeat attitude and acidic surges. Additionally, there’s a positive pathway on Digital Dawn that amplifies a braindance infusion even as these tracks curve and twist around molten lava flows.

Darqhorse navigates through hundreds of found sounds and textured patterns, from the furious beatwork of “Probability Wave” and “Psynapse” to the intricately layered and emotive groove of “Parasomnia.” While “Stellar Door” casts a tranquilized acid-glitch shuffle and “A Forgotten Future (Squaric Remix)” and “Emergence (LectrO COd_e Remix)” offer the hardest breaks’n electro of the bunch, “Tripwire”‘s old-school synth workout exudes a vintage air.

Curating the next wave of experimental electro-nic sculptures and creating futuristic soundtracks, the Diffuse Reality imprint have etched another fantastic release on the musical map.
