Shrouded in a gleaming and delicately evocative foggy atmosphere
Part of the growing and forward moving DIY musical community Polar Seas can be seen as a key actor when it relates to the groundbreaking minimal ambient creativity and quiet corner of modern days electronic music. Ghost Bird is the result of a compelling and original collaborative between ambient avant-folk singer Clara Engel and Bradley Sean Alexander (owner of Polar Seas).
In this unpretentious and fragile collection of poetical reveries and storytelling ambient miniatures the listener will move toward a palette of colorful emotions, shifted moods and subliminal vibes. The approach is intentionally electroacoustic (around tranquil guitar motifs and electronic arrangements), also displaying a heart moving poetical perspective. Pieces are shrouded in a gleaming and delicately evocative foggy atmosphere. The airy touching ambient folkish dimension of this album tends to adopt wistful sentimental segments. If you are not into mellow sounds, velveting lightness just pass your way, otherwise if you like slowly moving, diaphanous ambient music with hints of wordless vocals lines, and elaborated with a minimal arsenal of musical equipments you won’t be disappointed.
A pleasurable, introspective album continuously happy-sad or bittersweet flavor. Way recommended for fans of Klimek, Grouper, Juliana Barwick, Ernest hood, Birds of Passage et al.
