Braek :: Mutator EP (Colony Productions)

A three-piece suite of flexible sound designs and shape-shifting bass

December 10th, 2022 saw the Mutator EP release of Braek (aka Melbourne, Austrian-based Raghav Lakshman) hit digital shelves on Colony Productions; a three-piece suite of flexible sound designs and shape-shifting bass infestations submerged in a stream of glitch-laden effects. Its construction made from a Eurorack system and desktop synths, the opportunity to dive into these productions creates a dizzying array of sweet audio collages. From the slippery soundtrack and low-end fluctuations of the title track to the fidgety broken breaks and frenetic sparks of “Mayhap,” Mutator closes with “Evaculate” that takes its counterparts through sandblasted drums and rampant glitch-fields of dust and debris and simply doesn’t stop for a moment to catch its breath. A powerful EP not to be missed.

Mutator is available on Colony Productions. [Bandcamp]
