(05.01.07) While I’m quite tired of both Enduser and Bong-Ra release flood, The Kill is a remarkable split EP that concentrates the best offerings of these two powerful artists.
Bong-Ra’s “Cochise” is ruff and brutal, like it’s supposed to be, with loads of obscure samples thrown in only to raise the adrenaline between straight kick-drum rushes, supported by razor sharp, metal inspired guitar riffs. “Horns” borrows some jungle sublow bass tones, plenty of amen breaks and an overall hardcore setting that places this tune right next to a Panacea 12″ to your next breakcore set. Enduser goes angrier than ever; “Les Dilution” features a thunderous synth, so huge that will wipe off the dust from your woofers with the help of relentless, furious beats, but it’s a hard battle with “Playing The Devil” for the nastiest track award: here the breaks are hard-hitting every second in a different arrangement, like a monster drum solo fueled with horror screams and growling bass synths perpetrated over six minutes of raving madness.
This is a perfect hardcore injection for those who, like me, are a bit bored by verbose releases filled with unnecessary downtempo experiments, too many piano notes and obscure rap lyrics in the producer’s native language.
The Kill is out now on Ad Noiseam.
