Alongside the release of Konoyo on September 27, 2018, Hecker has announced a number of European and US tour dates for 2019 alongside the Konoyo Ensemble—starting in Tokyo on October 2, 2018 and ending at Los Angeles’ Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever Cemetery on February 23, 2019.

[Press-Release] In the wake of 2016’s magnetic and soaring Love Streams, American electronic musician Tim Hecker has been gearing up to drop his latest album, Konoyo. “Keyed Out,” the second track from the upcoming release, was written “over several sessions and finished in a small temple on the outskirts of Tokyo,” Hecker explains. This time, the prolific sculptor of haunting synth has stripped back the immensely layered construction of Love Streams to favor a “lonely deteriorating synth”—a thing that is “refracted and isolated.” Here, Hecker plays alongside traditional Japanese Gagaku musicians as part of his wider exploration into the overlaps between electronic distortion and myth-like minimalism. Alongside the release, Hecker has announced a number of European and US tour dates for 2019 alongside the Konoyo Ensemble—starting in Tokyo on October 2, 2018 and ending at Los Angeles’ Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever Cemetery on February 23, 2019.

Konoyo is available on Kranky September 27, 2018.
