(July 2010) Eitan Reiter is a multi-talented genre-crossing musician and producer. Places I
Miss That I Haven’t Been To
is his debut release on Aleph Zero, consisting in
the main, of down tempo chill zone electronica.

“Closure” produces a spiral of repeating enigmatic sounds. Nonchalant and
rewarding, its presence is strong before finally drifting off in floating
feather form. “Friends” is an echo driven terminal of idle chatter; it’s busy
and bustling before rich metallic jabs are delivered, all built upon and
contrasted with a filter effect. A tuneful vision emerges with the definite and directional “My Window.” An
inquisitive amble along steady ground, reaching its heights of warmth and dreams
as the track expands rapidly. Touched with atmospheric effects; there’s a sound
resembling a door creaking open, creating yet more of a sensitive and responsive
ambience. “Room of Creation” moulds a voice over with soothing chimes, its accompaniment
then adds an air of the mysterious to its steady beat. The radical entrance, of
what sounds like a swanky commercially driven grove, covers much of the distance leading to a simple, full on, evocative and fairly emotional pasture. There’s
a gentle breeze of sweeping sounds which echo and cry while whisking the seeds
along nicely into a dream like trance. “The Way To” is conclusive with its gentle notes spanning from the high to the
low following the undercurrent of electronic footsteps in the cosmic snow.
Eventually stirring with more celebratory brighter pitches, then cascading away
from standard theme, and opening up to fuller and calmer capacities.

Places I Miss That I Haven’t Been To is full of gentle, far-reaching
innovative freedom. The whole album maintains an extremely creative posture
making it a worthwhile addition to follow anything remotely chaotic. A serene
like debut, packed with inquisitive wanderings.
