I first came across Anom Vitruv on a train to Leeds. There he was sat not three feet… well er no. The Swiss producer’s excellent mix for Slabs of the Tabernacle was the introduction. In 2012 his self-titled EP appeared on Tabernacle Records, a crackling piece of dark atmospherics and dancefloor dissolution. Now in 2013 its time for another release, this time a 7” for Austria’s Offseason.
As with the Tabernacle record, all tracks are untitled. Churning insulated reverberations break the EP. The track is a brief and intense work, ultimately consuming itself. What follows are staggered beats, snares mustering strength to push forward through thick syrups of white noise and drone. B1 sees samples wrapped in a light veil of music, shifting grains of sound. Ambient curiosity is the field of study throughout. The finale is as isolated as the opening, a lonesome resonation of forgotten keys over feedback.
