With the blessing of the previous founders of Cassette Store Day, we are very pleased to announce the launch of a new annual event: Cassette Week UK — a week-long celebration of the beloved cassette tape running 14^th – 20^th October 2024, offering independent bands, artists and labels a direct connection with a whole network of indie stores across the country, to stock exciting and exclusive cassette titles and be part of a community once again, all while supporting our favorite record shops.

Re-founded by Disc-Phalanx (a production house for all physical formats, and sister-company of UK label Bit-Phalanx Music), and cult favorite indie record store Just Dropped In (Coventry), Cassette Week UK will take place nationally this October, in conjunction with the US and other Cassette Weeks taking place globally.

How it works ::

Independent artists, bands and labels are invited to release an exclusive album, EP, single, compilation, re-issue, live album (whatever they like) on a limited cassette tape.
For a small admissions fee, we will add the title to a list that will be sent to a network of dozens of independent record stores across the UK and Ireland.
The stores will personally select which titles they would like to stock and directly arrange with the artist / label the stock they would like on a simple wholesale or sale-or-return basis.
Cassette Week UK will take place across one week from the 14^th – 20^th of October, 2024.
Artists / labels will be given lead-times to manage the manufacture and delivery of their cassettes.
Artists/Labels are welcome to manufacture your cassettes with any existing suppliers you may already have. However, we at Disc-Phalanx are able to offer a full range of cassette production and will be offering exclusive deals to artists and labels to participating Cassette Week UK titles.
All titles are to be sold exclusively through participating record stores during that week.
Artists / labels will be free to sell any remaining, excess or additional stock through their own stores (such as Bandcamp, or as gig merch etc) from 21st October 2024.
Stores are warmly encouraged to host their own in-store events, gigs, signings etc during that week, and to collaborate with the participating artists and labels who may wish to perform or appear at stores to promote their release.
Will fairly promote all participating titles and stores across all platforms and within our press mailouts for any potential wider media coverage.
