Previously known as Quinoline Yellow, Tatamax, and Tap Throw (for Skam, Schematic, Touchin’ Bass, and FatCat Records), Luke Williams’ articulated electronic mayhem is as forward thinking as any recent Autechre, and dare I say, even a bit more abstract. Shifting pitter-patter notes and glitchy blips and beats seem to morph into hundreds of shapes, both large and small, collecting rhythmic jolts along the way. Williams’ ability to elevate the sounds of entangled machinery and evolving synth patches is as funky and fractured as it’s ever been as Lisbon D300422D5409 is a solid entry of top-shelf glitch acrobatics and is a live recording that I’m sure would have been simply amazing to experience in a live setting.
