For Resurrection Catharsis the humanoids have carved a mechanical menace. A dirge to the daily drudgery smelted into an electro elegy. Industrial currents ebb and flow across the cracked circuit boards as bitter green eyes peer from behind the masks. “THE MACHINE” has been re-booted, re-wired and re-awakened.

[Release page] One of the rawest acts to grace the techno and electro scene have been inactive for some time, their last vinyl effort was in 2007. Ultradyne are synonymous with Detroit, pushing their own brand of post-industrialized electronics. These stalkers, founded by Dennis Richardson, have been releasing since the mid 90s with a number of members. Now in 2013 Dutch techno veteran Frank De Goodt, of the excellent Sonar Base, has added his name to the Ultradyne annals. With De Groodt is Vidrio, aka Alex Lugo, for Resurrection Catharsis.

“Tensio Noturnalis” is an industrial powerhouse. Crashing beats support shattering glass and crumpling girders. “Primal Oppressor” amplifies the anger. Distortion rivets machinery as ghostly lyrics breath battery acid. The unadulterated nature of the EP is ever present, a cold rage punctuating breaks and beats. “Imprint” contains those same heavy beats as shapes are twisted, reformed and forged in a furnace of faceless grimaces. “The Unknown” finishes, a deluge of smoke, ash and debris falling from scorched metallic skies. Unrefined, yet pure, the aggression finally runs out (on the record anyway.)

The Ultradyne philosophy is etched in caps on the Pi Gao Movement website: “ULTRADYNE…A MACHINE OF IDEAS WHOSE SOLE PURPOSE IS THE CONTINUAL COMBINATION AND PROGRESSION OF IDEAS. AS LONG AS A THOUGHT EXISTS, THIS MACHINE WILL NEVER CEASE.” For Resurrection Catharsis the humanoids have carved a mechanical menace. A dirge to the daily drudgery smelted into an electro elegy. Industrial currents ebb and flow across the cracked circuit boards as bitter green eyes peer from behind the masks. “THE MACHINE” has been re-booted, re-wired and re-awakened.
