As the press release accurately describes, “the two brothers are fascinated by a wide variety of musical genres. From the broken industrial mechanics of “Rotormesser (The Ebertbrothers Redshift Remix),” to the dribbling beatwork and expressive sound design on “Mean Guy (Karsten Pflum Hooligan Mix),” what we have here is a veritable electronic stew. With a surplus of abstract music, “Lisa (Ex.Hale Rework)” is a powerful track blending tones’n drones with sandblasted drum’n bass shadows as the rugged electro-botics of “Rotormesser (Serge Geyzel Remix)” takes flight. Closing with an unexpected storm of industrial rock on “Aureolin (Mezolozyde Rock It Remix),” Polymer Boulevard Remixes is an expressive and collective mix of ideas, each artist delving into the originals‘ “Slowly building musical lava flows, cascading synths and organically layered melodies.”
